Ombase for Your Yoga Studio
CHALLENGE:
The OmBase system checks people in, collects payments, and keeps information on Your Yoga members and students. Post-research, we discovered usability errors and the system wasn’t functioning as a whole. I integrated the findings and designed a prototype that allowed all parts to work together more efficiently.
Methods and Approach:
Onsite Cognitive Walkthrough - Contextual Inquiry - User/Stakeholder Interviews -Recommendations Report - Interface Design and Interactive Prototyping
FINDINGS:
1) Instructor had to use multiple systems that did not interact:
No record of long-term revenue or attendance
Several different tools and platforms that slowed daily tasks
2) Usability issues within the program:
Icons were repetitive and unclear
Challenging to customize or edit
Unclear indications
Lack of feedback within the system
3) Inactive features that didn't serve a purpose:
Phone number
Scan feature
PROTOTYPED RECOMMENDATIONS:
Equipping the instructors to view data trends in attendance and revenue gave the instructors useful information to view the most popular times and sessions attended so they may refine their practice.
